Journal History

The Community Action and Social Transformation Journal (CAST Journal) was established in 2025 and is managed by the Sustainable Education Researchers Alliance (serral.org) as an academic platform dedicated to advancing research, knowledge exchange, and best practices in the fields of community action, empowerment, and social transformation.

From its inception, CAST Journal has positioned itself as a transdisciplinary, collaborative, and participatory academic space with the vision of fostering more just, resilient, and empowered communities. The journal is published four times a year (Quarterly) and provides open access for scholars, researchers, practitioners, activists, and policymakers to share ideas, innovations, and experiences that contribute to inclusive, equitable, and sustainable social change.

The scope of CAST Journal covers a wide range of themes, including community engagement, technological innovation, public policy, social justice, transformative education, and environmental action. With this broad coverage, the journal serves not only as an academic forum but also as a bridge between scholarly knowledge, field practice, and public policy.

CAST Journal remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality through a rigorous peer-review process, adherence to international publication ethics, and continuous efforts to improve indexing and global visibility.
